CIAPS to host LNC Public Lecture on Hate Speech
The CIAPS auditorium in Lagos is the venue of the end of the year Public Lecture organised by the League of Nigerian Columnists (LNC) set to take place in the first week of December 2018.
The LNC is a confraternity of arguable the most influential opinion makers in Nigeria; it is presided by Chief Tola Adeniyi and its membership include Yakubu Mohammed, Ray Ekpu, Dan Agbese, Dare Babarinsa, Sam Omatseye, Rueben Abati, Martins Oloja, Henry Boyo, Ikechukwu Amaechi, Jimanze Ego-Alowes, Anthony Kila and a host of other prestigious pens.
In a statement released by Dr Jimanze Ego-Alowes, a member of the organising committee and confirmed by Anthony Kila, chair of the organising committee it was disclosed that theme of this Public Lecture is “Hate Speech” and the event will be chaired by Prof Anya O. Anya.
This end of the year lecture will be delivered by Dan Agbese and its panel for discussion will include Chidi Odinkalu, Innocent Chukuma, Ray Ekpu, Funke Egbemode and Sam Omatseye
This Public Lecture will be an opportunity to rub minds with the most brilliant minds in the country and it will take place at the Auditorium of the Centre of International Advanced and Professional Studies in Lagos on Tuesday 4thDecember 2018. Start time is 11am.

Designed as a form of public engagement the event is open to the general public. In his own remark Ikechukwu Amaechi who is also member of the organising committee said that the event is the league’s way of bringing back thinking as a key resource to national development.
