This programme will give you a clear idea of who are the Yoruba people, what are their original and modern beliefs, what are their taboos, how do they celebrate and mourn, what is their family system. You will learn more about Yoruba arts and fashion, Yoruba cuisine and music.
This Yoruba Cultural Studies programme is for anyone that has access to the internet and wants to get a structured and detailed understanding of the ways and mind set of the original and modern Yoruba life style. It is open to and will be useful to

Beyond their homeland in Nigeria, where they have the highest concentration, strong traces of Yoruba culture and people are today found in Africa, America, Europe and even in Asia mainly due to slavery, trade, immigration and literature, but who are the Yoruba people, what are their original and modern beliefs, what are their taboos, what is their typical and modern cuisine, how do they celebrate and mourn, what is their family system?
This CIAPS Certificate in Yoruba Cultural Studies can give you an insight into all these. The programme is an initiative of the CIAPS School of Language and Humanities. It has been designed as an introduction to the culture of Yoruba people across the globe.
