Course Overview
Our Post Graduate Certificate in Education programme has been designed for those planning to work in schools with existing provision for, or at least ambition of, providing an international education for their learners. Throughout the course, much emphasis will be on the University of Cambridge International Examinations Curricula and Assessments. Formative and Summative assessments will be evaluated in Cambridge.
This is an intensive and rigorous one-year programme for highly motivated graduates with a clear passion for teaching in the Early Years, Primary or Secondary schools. Those wishing to teach in Further and Higher Education will have to express their interests when registering. Students on this course will be expected to undertake both teaching practice in schools and learning in our Centre.
Part of the programme will take place in England; it is therefore advisable that candidates consider their willingness and ability to travel during the programme before enrolling.

How will you be assessed?
Participants in this course will be required to take part in teaching practice in schools and learning in our Centre. CIAPS classes will take place as set out in the timetable, and attendance is an important part of the assessment.
It is a very interactive programme and each module can have both formative and summative assessment. These assessments can be written, verbal and based on observations.
There are two options of learning:
- Classroom at the Centre or
- Distance Learning and Online
In both cases, final assessments will be marked in England.

Applicants for this course should have a first degree (Bachelors degree) or equivalent. Having a good grade will be a major advantage. Applicants without such qualifications may apply, but their applications will be subject to a more complex process, and they will be required to demonstrate their ability to successfully follow the programme. In all cases, applicants will be tested by CIAPS through written assessments and verbal interview. Applicants will be deemed successful only if they are judged to possess not only good academic credentials but also a good mix of:

As a fundamental part of learning, CIAPS offers its students the very best practices. We strongly encourage our students to participate in international programmes which will enable them to gain global experience by working and collaborating with their peers throughout the world. Part of this course will take place abroad, and students are advised to consider their ability to travel for a short period during their programme.
We place a lot of emphasis on research, both empirical and theoretical. Our faculty members are continuously engaged in research related to the subject they teach, and we encourage students to participate alongside them. We also strongly encourage our students to create their own research topics related to their area of work or interest. By the end of this course, a good student should have completed at least one publishable body of research.
