Michael Pomphrey is a trained Physicist, experienced Educationalist and School Leader. After university, Michael worked commercially as a computer systems analyst and then, for three years, as a teacher in the Royal Navy.

Having completed his Commission, he started his teaching career in civilian institutions in England. He has over thirty years of experience in school education both in England and abroad.

As he progressed in the teaching profession he held various positions of responsibility, including Head of a Physics Department in the UK and, later in his career, Head of School at an independent preparatory school (300+ pupils and 30 teaching staff). Currently, he designs science curricula for colleges in and around Cambridge.
