Good project managers help organisations to manage their projects and achieve set goals on time and on budget.
The Certificate in Project management course is a hands-on, innovative and dynamic programme which focuses on the theoretical principles and languages of project management as well as the practical applications. Learners will be exposed to case studies of best and bad practices and will identify, analyse, and use strategies, tools and techniques to deal with the responsibilities and challenges facing project participants. Learners will be able to put theory into action.
Graduates from the course will leave CIAPS with a very clear understanding of project management practices and will be able to adjust when things do not go as planned. They will be able to effectively deal with change and uncertainty. Lastly, graduates will be able to recognise good leaders and will be able to incorporate leadership skills in their project management practices.
This course will focus on an application of project management techniques appropriately balanced with project management theory. Participants in this course will be required to combine practice in real workplace situations with learning in our Centre.
It is a very interactive programme and each module can have both formative and summative assessment. These assessments can be written, verbal and based on observations.

A fundamental part of learning at CIAPS relates to the exposure of learners to best practices. We strongly encourage our students to participate in international programmes which will enable them to gain a global perspective. This course is led by a USA based project management expert and will incorporate a worldview of project management through the use of case studies, journal articles, and project briefs.
