Ask any top executive in the private or public sector and they will tell you one of the crucial drawbacks they face in achieving their goals is having a sound personal or executive assistant.

A survey carried out recently amongst Chairmen and Directors, Ministers and Commissioners, Legislators, Advisers and top Consultants revealed that they all want people who work closely with them to be loyal and flexible. They also want their PAs and Executive Assistants to have good written and verbal communication skills, be capable of managing logistical issues such as their travels and appointments, be able to deal with people of different level effectively and capable of following up with associates and stakeholders, prepare and research information for their projects and meetings.

This Programme has been designed bearing in mind the need of and with a lot of inputs from these Chairmen and Directors, Ministers and Commissioners, Legislators, Advisers and top Consultants.
It is aimed at experienced and new Senior PAs and Executives, Management Assistants and Executive Assistants who want to improve their performance and those who are new to the role and want to reach high levels.

Start Date: July 21st, 2020 One Week Class (Full time) or

September 26th, 2020   (Four Saturdays) for Part-time and Online Class

Admission and Fees

Applicants for this course should have a first degree or equivalent (Bachelors, HND). Having a good grade is a major advantage. Applicants without such qualifications may apply, but their applications will be subject to a more complex process and they will be required to demonstrate their ability to successfully follow the programme. In all cases, applicants will be tested by CIAPS through written assessments and verbal interview. Applicants will be deemed successful only if they are judged to possess a good mix of:

  • Ability and willingness to learn
  • Sense of responsibility and ability to work in a team
  • Resilience and stability
  • Integrity and respect for others
  • Applicants are highly advised to have access to a laptop or equivalent

Participants will leave this programme with a clearer idea of what their role is, what expectations their bosses have and how new technology can help them in it. They will identify what drives their career, barriers they are likely to meet and how to overcome them. They will also learn to work better with people of different levels and prepare information and research for their bosses. During the training, all participants will get a chance to take part in projects that will help them develop managerial aspects of their positions, improves their ability to plan and monitor tasks. There will also be a series of meeting with potential and real-life employers.

Learning and Assessment

This Professional Development Programme consists of fifteen units spread. Participants in this course will be offered the opportunity to combine practise in real workplace situations with learning in our Centre.

It is a very interactive programme and each module can have both formative and summative assessment. These assessments can be written, verbal and based on observations.

There are various options for learning:

  • A one-week intensive programme or
  • A one-month programme: one day a week.
  • Classroom at the Centre
  • Distance Learning and Online

In all cases, final assessments will be marked in England.
