This International Postgraduate Certificate in School Management is a highly interactive programme aimed at people who already are or intend to lead or be part of school management teams.
It is a one year hands-on, innovative and dynamic programme which focuses on the theoretical principles and strategies of school management as well as its practical applications. Learners will be exposed to case studies of best and bad practices and will identify, analyse, and use strategies, tools and techniques to deal with the responsibilities and challenges facing school leaders. Learners will be able to put theory into action.
Graduates from the course will leave CIAPS with a very clear understanding of school management practices and will be able to adjust when things do not go as planned. These graduates will have very clear strategies and ability to manage parents, staff and children in the schools they head.
They will be able to effectively deal with change and uncertainty. Lastly, graduates will be able to recognise good leaders and will be able to incorporate leadership skills in their school management practices.

This course has been designed with the clear objective of training professionals who will be capable of covering crucial roles in education leadership. Depending on their experience and interests, graduates will leave the programme with the required competency and confidence to work as:

ADMISSION & FEES
Applicants for this course should have a first degree (Bachelors degree) or equivalent. Having a good grade will be a major advantage.
Applicants without such qualifications may apply, but their applications will be subject to a more complex process, and they will be required to demonstrate their ability to successfully follow the programme. In all cases, applicants may be tested by CIAPS through written assessments and or verbal interview. Applicants will be deemed successful only if they are judged to possess not only good academic credentials but also a good mix of:

- Sense of responsibility and ability to work in a team
- Resilience and stability
- Clear passion for education and respect for learners
Cost of the programme includes:
Tuition Fees, Learning Material, and Ancillary Facilities.
The cost for the programme is 6500 USD.
There is a 30,000 USD CIAPS Merit Commonwealth Scholarship fund available to twenty students (20) students. You must have applied and be accepted by 24 March 2018 to be eligible for the CIAPS Commonwealth Scholarship.

It is a nine months hands-on, innovative and dynamic programme. Participants in this course will be required to take part in teaching and or management practice in schools and learning in our Centre. CIAPS classes will take place twice a month as set out in the timetable.
There are two options of learning:
Classroom at the Centre or Distance Learning and Online In both cases, final assessments will be taken at the Lagos Centre and be marked in England. Distance Learning and Online Students will be given the opportunity to submit their projects online.
Each module undertaken will have a formative and summative assessment.
These assessments will be written, verbal and based on observations.
Practical sessions will take place in the agreed schools and organisations. Students performance in these schools and organisations will be evaluated based on written assessments, reports from the organisation and observation by CIAPS examiners
A fundamental part of learning at CIAPS is the exposure of our learners to the very best practices. We strongly encourage our students to participate in international programmes which will enable them to gain global experience by working and collaborating with their peers throughout the world. Part of this course will take place abroad, and students are highly advised to consider their ability to travel for a short period during the programme.
Much emphasis is placed on research, both empirical and theoretical. Our faculty members are continuously engaged in research related to the subject they teach, and we encourage students to participate alongside them. We also strongly recommend that our students create their own research topics related to their area of work or interest.
