CIAPS 2016 Public Interest Essay Prize Winners List

Lagos-based international Graduate School, CIAPS (The Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies) has announced the winners for its 2016 Public Interest Essay Competition aimed at studying the Nigerian Recession and finding solutions to it.

The Public Interest Essay Competition, themed “Diagnosis and Prognosis of the Nigerian Recession”, is aimed at encouraging fact-based analysis as part of our effort in contributing to the building of knowledge based society.

According to a statement on the Centre’s website (www.ciaps.org) “ The essay competition was open for entries for about three months, and over 250 essays were submitted.

The CIAPS longlist selection team came up with a list of 60 entries”.

Confirming the news the CIAPS Centre Director, Prof Anthony Kila noted that participants in the competition though united by a clear passion for understanding the country’s current economic travails, varied both in terms of age, gender, location, background and quality of entries.

He further stated that content of the entries also ranged from brilliant, interesting, to dull and even annoying.

Over 250 essays were submitted for the competition; the CIAPS longlist selection team came up with a list of 60 entries. 10 entries were further added to the list after they showed evidence they had submitted on time.

Two people were nominated as 5th Winners.

The 2016 CIAPS Public Interest Essay Competition will confer 1Million Naira to the 6 most successful essays.

Winning essayists are required to contact the Centre via email.

    At last, the finalists released. But painful my cousin is not among the winners,the top five. The essay asking members of the public to contribute to the national issues is a great and welcome development in Nigeria. I won’t know of any Nigerian schools private or public from secondary to tertiary levels that have provided such a platform
